Open New Account

MFS Funds are available only through an investment professional; we cannot accept applications without a registered representative listed. We are confident an investment professional can provide you significant value by working with you to identify investments to best fit your goals and objectives

To open a new account with MFS, please follow the steps outlined below. For additional information, be sure to read these tips for setting up your account.

  • Mutual Funds

Step 1: Complete the new account application with your investment professional

The new account application can be downloaded, printed, and completed by hand or you can fill in the application online and print it out. After filling out the application, each registered owner must sign it and your investment professional's firm must complete the dealer section

Important: To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money-laundering activities, federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. Please work with your investment professional to ensure the required information is provided on the application

MFS cannot establish your account unless Sections 1 through 6 of the application are completed. (Download application below.) We also suggest reviewing other account services offered in Sections 7 through 10 with your investment professional. Note: Do not use the MFS Mutual Fund Application to set up an MFS IRA or 529 College Savings Plan
