MORE ABOUT MFS CORPORATE CITIZENSHIP

U.S. Benefits

COMPETITIVE BENEFITS

COMPETITIVE BENEFITS

We support our people with benefits programs and policies that help them manage their life outside of work – so they can focus their time and energy helping us serve our clients. We begin by offering generous medical and dental insurance plans, with costs for each largely covered by the company. And additional insurance programs that will help cover many life needs, from long-term disability to cancer insurance to even discounted insurance for your pet. Our retirement benefits are comprehensive and include a company-funded retirement plan.

Health and Dental

MFS covers a substantial amount of healthcare and insurance costs. Your final contribution will depend on the options you elect. Employees and their qualified dependents are eligible for health and dental coverage on the first day of employment. MFS offers three different comprehensive health plans through Harvard Pilgrim Health Care.

Employees may choose between two dental plans through Delta Dental. Premiums for indivudual and family dental coverage are paid fully by MFS. Health care and insurance programs are continuously reevaluvated to meet employee needs.

Retirement

We offer two different Retirement Plans.  Our Defined Contribution plan forms an important base for your retirement savings. MFS® contributes an amount equal to 15% of your base compensation to the plan each pay period upon meeting eligibility requirements. You decide where the money is invested from a pool of MFS and other mutual funds. Vesting begins in year two at 25% each year; you are fully vested on your fifth anniversary. We also offer the MFSavings Retirement Plan, a 401(k) Plan. Although participating in this plan is voluntary, employees who do not opt out are automatically enrolled in the plan. Employees may contribute up to 85% of base compensation on a tax-deferred basis. Contributions may be directed among numerous investment choices available under the plan, including MFS mutual funds. Our 401(k) plan works as an excellent complement to our defined contribution plan. Contribution amounts to both plans may be limited because of annual IRS maximums.

Additional Benefits

In addition, MFS offers fully paid long-term disability, life, and accidental death and dismemberment insurance.  Employees may elect to participate in flexible spending accounts to set aside pre-tax money for qualified health care and/or dependent care expenses.   MFS also offers programs that enable employees to set aside pre-tax money to pay for parking and transit pass purchases.  Supplemental benefit plans available to employees through payroll deduction include long term disability, life, auto, and veterinary pet insurance, vision, and cancer indemnity, as well as participation in the MGH Executive Registry.  MFS employees and some family members may purchase shares of MFS funds at net asset value. Long Term Disability, Life, Auto, and About MFS Insurance, Veterinary Pet Insurance, Aflac Cancer Indemnity Insurance, MGH Executive Registry, and the Davis Vision Plan. These supplemental plans are available for purchase at discounted rates to our employees, and most offer the convenience of payment through payroll deductions.
